'My sister went missing six months ago, although the police may have given up we haven't. I know there was something in the woods that day, whatever it is I will find her'.
We felt a voice over would be more effective in making it feel like a trailer as the dialogue may make it more like an opening two minutes. The voice over meant that we could use any shot over the top of the sound also helping to keep the pace of the trailer going.
Another piece of non-diegetic sound we were planning on using is the nursery rhyme the teddy bears picnic, we felt this was effective because it is well known and it mentions the woods during the song. Not only this but it connotes children who would normally associated with innocence and fun so it sort of juxtaposes and makes it more creepy.
Teddy bears picnic:
If you go down to the woods today
You're sure of a big surprise.
If you go down to the woods today
You'd better go in disguise!
For every bear that ever there was
Will gather there for certain,
Because today's the day the
Teddy Bears have their picnic
Will gather there for certain,
Because today's the day the
Teddy Bears have their picnic
If you go down to the woods today,
You'd better not go alone!
It's lovely down in the woods today,
But safer to stay at home!
You'd better not go alone!
It's lovely down in the woods today,
But safer to stay at home!
For ev'ry bear that ever there was
Will gather there for certain, because
Today's the day the
Teddy Bears have their picnic.
Will gather there for certain, because
Today's the day the
Teddy Bears have their picnic.
